What a wonderful story, it resonates, since I went through a somewhat similar path - knitting in my childhood, high school and college years, then stopping - almost altogether - when I started a family in a hot environment... Thank you for sharing your journey!

Thank you very much for your kind words. It's so good to know that my story resonated with you. Did you end up finding projects to knit even though it was hot where you lived?

Like you, I discovered dishcloths. I also made toys for my kids when they were little. And eventually I discovered linen yarn and I've been using it for summer tops.

Wonderful! How do you find linen wears over time?

It actually gets softer after multiple washes and doesn't fade, so in that way it's great. But it tends to wear out faster around the seams (either that or I've been wearing the one top way too much - it's been my favorite for a few years). I've been washing it on regular, maybe it would last longer if I used gentle cycle. It's an easy fix though, so I'm sure it'll last a few more years; I was planning on reinforcing the seams for next projects.

Thanks so much for sharing your experience of linen yarn. I'm yet to try a project with linen. I've seen some beautiful designs and my plan is to knit one to wear next summer. That's great that you can fix up your linen garments. One of the great joys of our craft, the fact we can mend and extend the life of our favorite items. :)

Life always seems to bring us what we need when we need it (must try harder to trust the universe/God/whatever a person believes in). I've found that if you let it pass you by, it comes back round but this time with a kick up the butt :) Wishing you lots of more adventures and opportunities Jodie.
