“what’s something interesting you’ve learned or like to learn about fiber arts?”
I recently purchased the “Knitter’s Book of Yarn,” because I know very little about fiber. I tend to buy yarn that’s recommended by patterns but want to know more about how yarn behaves so that I can have greater flexibility.
That's an excellent book Tashay, Clara Parkes is an expert when it comes to understanding different fibers. I'll be interested to hear about your discoveries.
Thank you Dorothy for your recommendation. As I've been listening to Over Sea, Under Stone there was a book I read when I was young that it reminded me of. The title was at the edge of my memory and I've just remembered it - "Diana Of Cliffend School" by May Sullivan. It was my mother's book and she loved it.
Loved learning that "mom" means "creator" in Thai, So fitting!
(On the subject of inspiration and History, I have to recommend two podcasts I love listening to, in case you don't already know about them: Haptic&Hue by Jo Andrews, and Fiber Nation by Allison Korleski. Fascinating stories and conversations.
Loved reading this letter, Jodie. There's always so much to try in fiber arts and that's what I love about them. Well, currently I am learning to spin and want to explore more fibers. Dark is Rising sounds so interesting!!
Thank you for your kind praise Kavitha. That's exciting about learning to spin, I look forward to hearing about your adventures. Book 1 in The Dark Is Rising series is great so far :)
so glad you are reading The Dark is Rising!! I hope you love it as much as I did. The arts and crafts center looks incredible!! Thank you for including the photos, what an inspiring place!
You're starting The Dark is Rising series?! Oh my, to read that through my young eyes as if for the first time. It's a great series, and if you have access to it, there was a beautiful dramatisation done in the UK. VERY atmospheric.
Yes! It's not a series I'd come across before and I'm listening to the first book now and enjoying it. Thanks for letting me know about the dramatisation. I love mystery steeped in the past.

I'm really enjoying the first book Kelsey! Kalm Village was a fabulous place to visit and the textiles were stunning.
Thanks so much Jodie for featuring “Seven Senses”!☺️
You're welcome! Best of luck with Present Sense.
